You Were Born Happy

Here’s where it all starts: Happiness is your natural state of being.

I know it sounds hard to believe, but it is how we are wired from birth.

Looking at children play, it becomes obvious. As children, we need very little to be happy. The only requirement is that our basic needs are fulfilled. If we are not hungry, tired, or in pain, then we are happy by default.

But as we grow, things get more complicated. More needs evolve. More “requirements” for happiness arise from our parents, friends, teachers, society, etc. We learn that “life’s not all fun and games”.

Therefore, most of our unhappiness is learned.

So much of our anxiety, stress, and depression arise from trying to fulfill unrealistic expectations, living a life that’s not aligned with our values and who we truly want to be, as well as the inability to allow our minds and bodies to function the way they were naturally intended to.


What Is Alignment?

Alignment is defined as “the proper adjustment of the components of an electronic circuit, machine, etc. for coordinated functioning". Or “a state of agreement or cooperation among persons, groups, nations, etc, with a common cause or viewpoint"

In our case, the coordinated functioning, agreement and cooperation happen between your body, mind, and spirit.

Yes, that is who you are, or more accurately, those are the parts that make up who you are.

Your body, mind, and spirit are complex because they are composed of many interconnected parts, each individually and all collectively,

and they are a system because they all work inseparably together.

In essence, inner alignment is about making sure the different parts of your body/mind/spirit complex work together towards what you want them to work towards, be that health, wealth, success, relationships, or all of them.


How Does It Work?

Here’s the most important part: Healing and happiness are not achieved by fixing just one part but by realigning the system as a whole, allowing your body/mind/spirit system to function with efficiency, ease, and vitality.

In essence, aligning you to be naturally healthy and happy, as you were born to be.

Alignment is what we call health. In your body/mind/spirit system, that’s how you come out of the assembly line, i.e., you are born to be healthy and happy. That’s how you’re naturally wired.

There are basically no mechanisms in your system to make you unhealthy or unhappy: It’s the imbalance (misalignment) of some or all aspects of the system that cause ill health and unhappiness.

Think about it. Just like a complex mechanical device, say, an engine or a clock, the human body/mind/spirit system functions efficiently ONLY when all its parts are precisely aligned and working in harmony.

For example, in an engine, every gear, piston, and valve must be finely tuned and move exactly in sync; if one component is off by even a fraction, performance drops, friction increases, and the whole system strains.

It might even break (it's no coincidence we describe our loss of mental health as "breakdown").


So the fact that you are not feeling happy right now is because there are things blocking your mind, body, and spirit from aligning the way they are supposed to.
The goal of the Inner Alignment Method is to tune your body/mind/spirit system and return it to its natural baseline:
Health, happiness, peace of mind.

Depression and Anxiety are Often Signals of "Misalignment"

I'll explain this in greater detail in the book, but basically misalignment happens when Your body wants one thing,

your mind is focused on something else,

and few of us are even aware of what our spirit wants.

Intuitively, you feel a pull in one direction, but logically you deduce that to be impossible. Your emotions tell one story, but your habits force you to play out something else.

This is internal misalignment. When your Body, Mind, and Spirit (and the sub-levels within them, such as intuition, emotion and logic) are "pulling in different directions", your system creates "friction" that we experience as anxiety and depression.

Therefore, you don't need "fixing", you need alignment.
